Two weeks ago, whilst the leaders of the G8 met in L'Aquila for their own self-pride, for the pleasure of the Italian clever talker Silvio Berlusconi, and taking non-decision and making promises they will never respect, the EU Commission was allocating additional 72 millions of Euro for the development of projects in the area of the the Union for the Mediterranean.
True money, in response to concrete needs of the countries of the Mediterranean area: environment protection and decontamination of the sea (22M), highways of the sea (7.5M),
alternative energies (solar - 5M), cooperation programmes with non-EU countries (32M).
Sure, some critics can be raised, especially on the contradictory cooperation with Israel and Palestine, but - in any case - we are talking about something concrete, not about mere declarations of intents made by some self-referenced politicians.
Oh, by the way, has anyone of you read or heard about this news on the European medias?
